Abstract
This article aims to share ideas about the role of extensive reading in helping EFL students develop their reading skills. The motivation to read greatly impacts students' reading abilities, academic achievement, and intellectual development. Research shows that students with a desire to read tend to read more frequently, comprehend material better, and achieve higher academic outcomes compared to those without this drive. Intrinsic motivation plays a significant role in encouraging reading
